When I hear the geese above two things happen, as they thrupp
and honk their way to wherever they are going. Firstly I smile and then I’m up
with them in my mind flying along to wherever they are going and always in my
imagination it’s somewhere by the sea – sand, long reeds, warm breeze, sunny.
I think the geese have the right idea.

DeleteAndrew Height Why Linda?
DeleteLinda Kemp I suppose cos that's where we normally see them swimming about, either there or standing around the Mere or Peasholm Lake.
DeleteAndrew Height I sometimes see thousands of them on the cob at Porthmadog. It's quite a sight when they all take off together.

Thrupp! That's a nice "woody" sounding word

ReplyDeleteThere used to be 6 geese in the paddocks across the road - as well as cows, sheep, a horse ... I loved that view from my lounge window. Forever changing ....
