Andrew Height Yes it has candles, and yes it is a heater. There's another smaller pot inside with a tinfoil foil block in the hole. I use one nine hour burner tealight and four four hour burners. The four hours get the temp up and the nine hour keeps the chill off through the night. So far it's worked and my greenhouse has been a pleasant sixty degrees.
