Mid-September yard...

September already and, despite the sunshine, there's a hint of 'to come' in the air. The yard has been tidied, the overgrown tumble of colour cleared away, and now I am ready for the leaves to fall.

What a difference a dry month and weekends away makes. Only a few weeks ago my yard was lush with growth, but without rain or regular watering that lushness soon turned to shrivel.

Oh well, next year will be here soon enough.

bloody hell man, you always seem to be bemoaning the loss of the past. I bet you're garden's thinking, thank fuck for that - time for a rest . It does look very thoughtful, your garden

Good point Tim. I do hate losing my plants to the change in the seasons. On the positive though tomorrow is another day.

Looked great a month or so ago. The visits to Wales and the dry weather meant that I had to take radical action.
